First flown 14 June 1956 and delivered to Central African Airways 1 July after having the distinction of being the first Viscount to visit the USSR 29 Junel. When the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland was dissolved and Malawi and Zambia gained independence, CAA became a holding company and the Viscounts operated with nameplates for the new airlines; Air Malawi, Air Rhodesia, and Zambia Airways. To Air Rhodesia as 1 January 1968. Shot down by a surface-to-air missile shortly after departing Kariba for Salisbury as RH827 12 February 1979. All 59 on board perished.
