Delivered to Air France as F-BGNZ in 1953. Returned to De Havilland after the type was grounded after a number of crashes in 1954. Modified to a Comet 1XB in 1956 and registered as G-APAS in 1957. Given military serial XM823 in 1958 for testing. Stored at Shawbury in 1968. Transported to Cosford in 1978 and painted into BOAC colours as G-APAS.
