Used as the ASETS Airborne Seeker Evaluation Test System. It had a 4' in diameter turret that lowered through doors in the belly. It was also unique in that the side cargo door was activated. Operated by the 4950th Test Wing, Aeronautical Systems Division detachment stationed at Duke field. It was transferred to the 3246th Test Wing then to the 46th Test Wing based at Eglin in 1994. Was only heavy aircraft based at Eglin, the last C-130A operated by the USAF and retired in 2003.
