Photo probably taken at the first airshow in the United States. Frenchman Louis Paulhan was a star aviator and was paid $25,000 to appear with two Farman III and two Blériot XI planes and two other pilots. The Wright Brothers did not take part but were around to sue both Paulhan and Curtiss as the Wrights had patented the aileron. Photo from: California State Library

This is full-scale replica of the original 1909 design. VH-FRN was built at the Owls Head Museum in Maine and was initially registered N9168X. Registered in Australia in April 2018. Power comes from a Lycoming O-320. The wind has to be dead still to fly it.
