This was a 'cold jet' tip-driven type. Its cabin consisted of two Panhard PL-24c car rooves, one for the floor and the other for the roof. The first prototype, F-WZAI, seen here unmarked, made its first flight in December 1976 at Issy-les-Moulineaux. The board shows it undergoing ground rotation tests. A second, improved, prototype, F-WZJO, made its first flight on 12 December 1984, also at Issy-les-Moulineaux.

The Clément Ader aviation museum is part of an association named Espaces Aéro Lyon-Corbas (EALC).

Although not worn the first prototype of the Helicop-Jet had registration F-WZAI allotted. It was powered with a Djinn engine and proved well underpowered. The second prototype received the Astazou engine of the Alouette helicopter.
