J.D. Reed Co of Houston was the owner of this air racing P-38L. The Pegasus that features in the markings is the logo of sponsor Mobil Oil. Reed sold the aircraft in 1953 and was later with the then Confederate Air Force and also raced as White Lightning. Crash-landed in 2001 and ended up with Red Bull. Became part of a bundle of Cosmic Wind aircraft, components and jigs sold in UK in 1992. N21C was registered G-NZIC because it looked vaguely like N21C.
