This aircraft was delivered to MAP Zhukovski LII, the local research institute as a Tu-154 in 1973. Later converted to a Tu-154B. Modified to use hydrogen fuel as a Tu-155 then modified to use liquified natural gas in 1988, at flew as such in April 1988. It was long withdrawn from use when it appeared on static display at MAKS 2017.
