This is one of only two F-4Ds converted to EF-4D Wild Weasel, seen here still with its old nose. Remarkably it has its c/n on the tail.

This aircraft was originally built for the USN as F4H-1 but, before delivery, modified to become the USAF YRF-110A Spectre prototype, which was redesignated RF-4C in 1962. In 1965, it became the YF-4E testbed, to test F-4E slats and fly by wire (as seen in this picture). In 1974, canards were added on this aircraft. This photo was taken before that modification.

This is the first F-4E for the USAF. It is now preserved in Cleveland, Ohio, in the colours of the Thunderbirds, although it never operated with the Thunderbirds. Its entire life was spent with various USAF test units, from its first flight in 1967 until it went to AMARC in 1992.
