Originally built as N486A for Eastern Air Lines it was later modified for agricultural use, note the spray bars under the wings. When photographed it was lapsing into dereliction, and not long after this photo was taken it was broken up with some parts being acquired by Save-a-Connie to assist in the restoration of their Martin 404 N145S.

Originally delivered to the USAAF as a C-45F, serial 44-86963. Then transferred to the USN as a JRB-4, serial 44588. It was rebuilt in the early 1950s and became an SNB-5, before finally being redesignated as a UC-45J in 1962.
