Following retirement SL574 flew as part of the Historic Aircraft Flight, forerunner to the BBMF, from its formation in 1957. Following a crash in September 1959 the aircraft was relegated to gate guard duties at RAF Bentley Priory where it remained until 1967 when it was moved to Henlow for static use in the Battle of Britain film. After filming finished the aircraft returned to Bentley Priory where it remained until 1986 when it moved to RAF Halton in preparation for sale to the San Diego Aerospace Museum. The aircraft is still displayed with them at time of upload.

Bentley Priory was the Headquarters of Fighter Command during WWII and this is one of two replicas at the museum. It represents an aircraft flown by Peter Brothers, DSO and DFC who scored 16 kills during the war. To be noted is that there are two more full scale model P2921/GZ-L, at Biggin Hill (BAPC.477) and in Hawkinge (BAPC.272).
