Three Varsities of 5 FTS, seen at their home base. Note the different liveries. The left side aircraft, WF413 'V' has the newer RAF trainer red/white livery. The middle aircraft, WL671 'Q' is in the previous training colours, with dayglo areas, while WL634 'Y' has an odd mix of both liveries.

A line-up of 5 FTS Varsities at RAF Oakington in Cambridgeshire, which closed for fixed-wing flying two years later. Becoming an Army barracks, Gazelle and Lynx helicopters were based there between 1979 and 1991, after which the site became a Home Office immigration centre for asylum seekers
