This short-lived carrier operated between Waterford and Luton at the time of this photo.

Euroceltic flew for a little over two years with a fleet of, I think, only two Friendships.

The fuselage of EuroCeltic Airways F27 is now used for training by the Airport Fire Service. The aircraft was damaged beyond economic repair in November 2002 when it overran the runway while landing in stormy conditions and the front fuselage ended up in the sea (thankfully without injuries to passengers or crew). The incident ultimately led to the airline's demise and it had ceased operations by January 2003.

This aircraft was doing about one hours training and was photographed taxiing out to runway 31 for departure.

I had an idea this airline wouldn't last too long so the shot had to be nailed, seen here arriving from Waterford. AOC granted 12.1.01, revoked 21.1.03. Ex VH-EWY & G-JEAH; returned to lessor and stored at Billund then sold to Philippine AF in 6.05 using c/n 10669 as serial
