There were 428 Do-27s built in Germany and Spain as a development of the initial CASA-127 concept. The Museo del Aire has both a German and Spanish built examples in its collection: this is the German produced frame.

The Dornier Do 27 was actually designed in Spain and 50 were buil by CASA as the 127, Spanish AF designation L.9. Later 26 surplus German Do 27s were delivered - this one is ex 56+91, hence the camouflage scheme
