This is actually a SAAF formation. The Cessna served with the light aircraft squadrons of the SAAF. The Chipmunk was delivered to the RAF's Rhodesian Air Training Group at RAF Heany outside Bulawayo in then Southern Rhodesia in 1951. The following year it suffered a mishap and was stored before sold to South Africa where it was restored and flown by SAAF crews under the auspices of the SAAF Museum.
