Qantas used the Super Constellation to Port Moresby between January 1959 and July 1960 as part of its Sydney-Hong Kong service. VH-EAG operated the final service and the photo may record that event. EAG remained in service with Qantas until 1963 when it was traded to Boeing. It scrapped in 1965. This is not same aircraft as the current L-1049 VH-EAG - this is the original one! The original VH-EAG and not the Super Constellation registered to HARS in 1994. The first VH-EAG was the last L1049 in the Qantas fleet (and the first too). Sold in April 1963 as N93166, it was flown to Burbank and parted out.
