Aircraft wears Eastern Air Lines livery but did not fly for EAL and was really owned by the Major League baseball team. The Dodgers used a DC-3 earlier. In 1959 the team shocked New York by becoming the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ties with Eastern Air Lines were not immediately broken, judging by Peter Gates' 1959 picture of N1R. The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team operated this aircraft and the registration of N1R was also used with its replacement aircraft a Lockheed Electra. It went to Aviaco in May 1961 as EC-AQK later registered to Fuerza Aerea Boliviano as TAM-45. Subsequently written-off 24 January 1978 at San Ramon.
