VH-CES was built by Cec Heit in the 1960s from spare parts acquired from the Royal Queensland Aero Club. The c/n was taken from a part number stamped on the fuselage. This aircraft is not c/n DHA1077. Heit fitted -CES with raised rear decking that forms a headrest. The Queensland based aircraft was on a round-Australia trip when it visited Jandakot.
