It seems that after the renovation of Datangshan and its exhibits that some aircraft have been deemed surplus to requirements. This Mi-8 is one of them and languishes in the undergrowth off to the side of the museum's boundary.

I photographed two white, unidentified PLAAF Mil-8s during my visit to this wonderful museum. This one was displayed amongst the main helicopter section, whereas the other one was abandoned to the West of the main museum boundary.
