A number of Austers were built by OGMA and many saw service with the Portuguese Air Force. The OGMA workshops in Alverca were founded to support the newly-formed Military Aviation Service in 1918, and still exist as a significant defence & commercial aviation maintenance contractor, established as a Lockheed Martin and Embraer service centre and Airbus corporate jetliner specialist. The Auster D5/160 (160hp Lycoming) was renamed the Beagle Husky when Beagle acquired Auster in 1960.
