Former Swiss AF J-4097 went to the Texas Air Command Museum, Arlington (TX) with registration N58HH on 20 Nov'95. Via an unknown owner in Delaware the F58A was sold to the Northern Lights Aerobatic Team Inc. and Equipe de Voltige Northern Lights Inc, Montreal (QC) as C-GZIB from Jul'03. It moved to Lortie Aviation Inc, Lac Saint-Joseph (QC) and remained C-GZIB from 10 Sep'08 (and was operated from Istres). Then N340AX with Hunter Aviation Int'l Inc, Newark (DE) in Dec'16, leased for 3 yrs to TVPX Aircraft Solutions Inc Trustee, North Salt Lake (UT) from '18 and is now still owned by Hunter Avn

Ex RAF XF941. To Swiss AF in July 1974 and retired in November 1989. In the slide this Hunter is loaded out with an inert training version of the AIM-9 Sidewinder missile.

Picture taken during a ceremony to conclude the last repetition course of Fliegerstaffel 2 & Fliegerkompanie 15 operating Hunters out of Ulrichen, after which the airfield was closed to jet traffic. J-4119 was built in 1955 and served with the RAF until 1970 (serialled WV380). After refurbishment by Hawker Siddeley, it was part of an 1971 order of 30 second hand Hunter Mk58As for the Swiss AF, to supplement the 100 new aircraft bought back in 1958. Two more orders for 2nd hand a/c followed: one in 1973 for 22 single and finally one in 1974 for eight dual seat Hunters (TMk68).

Formation landing of two Swiss beauties, with J-4130 as the wingman. The lead aircraft, J-4129 is former RAF serial XF992. It was delivered to the Flugwaffe on 25 July 1974 and withdrawn from service on 16 August 1990. It was scrapped at Meiringen by mid-1995.

Former Royal Netherlands Air Force Hunter with serial N-318 was sold to Switzerland on 16 March 1973. The aircraft became operational on 16 August 1974 and was withdrawn from use in 1990. The Hunter was scrapped in July 1990.

Former RAF WW589 was delivered to the Flugwaffe on 13 April 1973. The Hunter, here seen assigned to Fliegerstaffel 1, was sadly written off in a crash near the Nufenenpass (Switzerland) on 20 October 1989.

This is former RAF WV374. It was delivered to the Swiss on 5 April 1974 and stricken on 9 September 1990. The Hunter was then sadly scrapped.

In 1991 the Swiss air force still operated over 100 Hawker Hunters. By political decission the Hunter was phased out three years later.

This classic jet fighter was still flying in large numbers. We saw over 60 different air frames during our stay in 1989.
