Not taken up by Lufthansa because the prohibition on West German aviation had not been lifted yet - the first two CV-340s to be delivered, D-ACAD and D-ACAH, arrived in Hamburg on 29 November 1954. This airframe was sold to the Union Carbide company. Its long list of operators does include the Luftwaffe from 1962 until 1973.
