Not taken up by Lufthansa because the prohibition on West German aviation had not been lifted yet - the first two CV-340s to be delivered, D-ACAD and D-ACAH, arrived in Hamburg on 29 November 1954. This airframe was sold to the Union Carbide company. Its long list of operators does include the Luftwaffe from 1962 until 1973. Nose preserved at Cradle of Aviation Museum and painted in - different - Lufthansa colours.
