Built in East Germany by VEB Flugzeugwerke at Dresden and first flown as 027 in July 1959. Later flew for periods with LOT as SP-LNP (June-September 1961) and SP-LNS (June-August 1966 and June-July 1967) and with the Air Force as 49 by 1980. Re-serialled 3073 in 1982 flying with 13BLT at Krakow. Withdrawn in December 1987 and stored at KRK. Moved by April 1998, in use by 2000 at Lutcza as part of restaurant Zajazd Pod Samolotem and scrapped by August 2015. The nose is reported to be in a private collection in Austria.

The first three Eastern European aircraft that arrived in Hermeskeil were a Hungarian An-2 and Mi-1, and this East-German built VEB-14P from Poland, which arrived in 1988, before the fall of the Iron Curtain in late 1989.
