This replica Spitfire Vb is painted to represent the aircraft in which 19 year old Danish Pilot Officer Aksel Svendsen was killed in a dog fight on 24 April 1942. It was commissioned by the Svendsen family in the 1960s and donated to the museum as a memorial to Aksel. It is now in the care of the Spitfire Society.
