Displayed along with R-2110 in the reverse paint scheme devised for the pair to mark the withdrawal of the recon Mirage from Swiss AF service in 2003

Not the very best picture, but unique (and noisy) it was. A Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO) of a Flugwaffe Mirage 3RS. This recce Mirage was accepted by the Flugwaffe on 22 May 1968 and was withdrawn from use in December 2003. R-2116 is preserved at Stans since March 2007.

When the last Mirage IIIRS aicraft were retired in 2003, R-2110 and R-2116 received the same special colour scheme except that on one aircraft it was applied in negative (as a film negative). Seen here is R-2116 with the special scheme on a light background. R-2110 had the scheme on a dark background. Both are now preserved next to each ofther in the town of Stans.
