This Caribou started life as an AC-1 under the old US designation system before becoming a CV-2A with the US Army. Then all fixed wing aircraft were transferred to the USAF and the designation changed to C-7A. She spent a year with Air America from 1973 to 1974. In 1975 she returned to the US Army where she soldiered on until 1986 when she was sold to civilian operators. She changed hands many times before being written off in Papua New Guinea in 1995 while operating for Garamut Explorations. Seen here at Van Nuys, CA when she was in the process of changing hands to Deutsche Aviation Inc
