This was Leonardo's answer for a tactical multi-mission platform at the WDS 2022. This aircraft was equiped with an pallet-mounted Command-Control-Communications Intelligence-Surveillance-Reconnaissance (C3/ISR) system. It was fitted with the ISR optronic sensor under the nose, the air refueling probe, and the full defensive aids sub-systems suite, but was not at the fully Next Generation standard at this time. The aircraft flew under the registration CSX62220. The Italian crew confirmed that it was a Leonardo test aircraft, which is why photography was not permitted inside.
