This is an F4EJ of the 301st SQ photographed at JASDF Nyutabaru Air Base on October 19, 1990. There were a total of five aircraft with this paint job. These aircraft participated in the 1990 JASDF combat competition, and this paint job was applied to the aircraft to boost morale. The star on the fuselage represents the 5th Air Wing to which the 301st SQ belonged. Also, when viewed from directly above, the arrangement of stars on the left and right sides resembles the letter V for victory. The shark mouths on each of the five aircraft were different in shape.

As can be seen here on AirHistory, this Mitsubishi-built F-4 was delivered to the same unit in 1978 as it was flying with (again) 31 years later. It was withdrawn from use in 2016.
