Official Sikorsky Aircraft photo. Original caption reads: "Two CH-53D/G helicopters built by Sikorsky Aircraft, including the one shown above, are presently stationed at the test center in Manching, north of Munich. The two, delivered last year, are the first of a 135-aircraft order. Further deliveries to the Federal Republic of Germany will be made under a co-production agreement involving Sikorsky and German aviation manufacturers". A total of 112 CH-53's were built at Speyer entering service in 1972. Only the two pattern aircraft came from Sikorsky and carried dual USN serials.
