The Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) was the armed forces of East Germany up to 1990. This MiG-29A was assigned to Jagdfliegergeschwader 3 (JG-3) "Wladimir Komarow" at Preschen air base. The 785 made its first flight on 30 November 1988, and was delivered to the NVA in January 1989, and according to NVA data the aircraft only flew some 195 flight hours before it was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 3 October 1990 as 29+20. So... this picture was just on time to immortalize it in NVA colors.
