July/58: Factory roll out; first B-52G built and first to be delivered to the USAF. Ca.January/59: TOS USAF. 13 Feb 1959: 5th Bomb Wing, Travis AFB, CA. By 1966: 20th Bomb Squadron/2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale AFB, LA. Deployed for combat in Vietnam in 1966, 1967, and from May 1972 to October 1973. By 1985: 42nd Bomb Wing, Loring AFB, ME. 3 Mar 89: 441st Bomb Squadron/320th Bomb Wing, Mather AFB, CA. 10 Jul 89: Flew to Offutt AFB, NE, for display at the SAC Museum. Later displayed on pylons at the entrance to Offutt AFB.
