Built by the Columbus Division, North American Aviation at then-Port Columbus Airport, Columbus, Ohio. This aircraft was delivered to the USAF c.1955 for what ended up being a relatively brief term of service. Her only active-duty USAF unit was the 3595th Combat Crew Training Wing at Nellis AFB, NV. In December 1958 she was transferred to the 142nd TFS, 113th TFG, Delaware ANG, where she remained until circa January 1962. Last assignment was with the New Jersey ANG, but sources do not specify specific unit. Delivered to the Air Force Museum in November of 1964, on display since.

The museum obtained this F-86H from the New Jersey ANG in 1964, now exhibited with part of its stressed skin removed to show the internal structure and placement of equipment

This F-86H is displayed at the National Musem of the USAF without it's stressed skin covering. This particular airframe was acquired from the New Jersey ANG and has been at the museum since Nov. 1964.
