Photo taken ahead of 18 (NEI) Squadron's deployment to the Northern Territory. The squadron had been working up at RAAF Fairbairn at Canberra. N5-139 was lost when it ran out of fuel returning from a mission over Timor and force landed in a swamp near Tea Tree Point south-west of Darwin on January 31, 1943. Crew were safe and despite the aircraft suffering only minor damage, none of it was salvaged until 1972. Parts were used in the restoration of the Darwin Air Museum's B-25, What happened to rest is not known.
