The Aeronca C-2 was the first truly light aeroplane certified by the Bureau of Aeronautics and produced in quantity in the US. This C-2 is the production prototype, first flying on 20th October, 1929. After the establishment of the National Air Museum in 1946, Aeronca answered a call for historic aircraft so this C-2 is now on display at the NASM's Udvar-Hazy Center.
