This is a F/A-18F Block 54 of the LOw Rate Initial Production 3, ordered in FY99. It was delivered to the US Navy in Jul'01 and started to serve VX-9 (with modex 511). In mid-2003, the Rhino was transferred to VFA-102 (modex 104) and then in Jan'04 to VFA-122 (NJ-132). in early 2005, transferred to VFA-211 (AB-211), then in mid-2008 to VFA-122 (AB-111). in Mar'09 it started to serve the NSAWC (12), received modex 104 by Feb'11. The NSAWC became NAWDC and the Hornet kept the same modex. Then in mid-2023 the F/A-18F was selected for the Blue Angels, and was repainted in the blue demo colours.

37 F/A-18E/Fs, seven EA-18Gs and two F/A-18Ds (so a true Hornets nest) and two Hawkeys can be seen on this picture, all aircraft are parked on the central ramp (also named the fleet or wing ramp) of the base.

F/A-18E Lot 35, ordered in FY11. First noted operational in late 2012. Early 2013, moved to VFA-27.

Former Schweizer Flugwaffe J-3010, delivered to the US Marine Corps by May 2004. First assigned to VMFAT-401 at MCAS Yuma, later transferred to the US Navy and this VFC-13. First as AF-02, later it became AF-14.

An EA-18G Growler of Lot 33, ordered in FY09

First flown on 11 June 2002, delivered to the US Navy on 26 July 2002. First assigned to VR-58 with tailcode/modex JV-834. It received the name "City of Orange Park", but was later (around early 2009) stripped of markings except the last four and the modex.

F/A-18E Lot 34, ordered in FY11. First assigned to VFA-122 as NJ-230 from fall 2012 up to early 2013. The transferred to VFA-27 in March 2013.

This old F-16A, former USAF serial 90-0944 is also former AMARC with inventory code FG0004. It arrived there as a brand-new aircraft on 21 May 1992 after the USA embargoed its delivery to Pakistan (planned as serial 91-731). It was stored for some years, and then transferred to the US Navy as an adversary aircraft. It left storage on 15 January 2003 and was assigned to the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) at NAS Fallon (NV). The center was later redesignated into Naval Air Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC).

This old F-16A, former USAF serial 90-0942 is also former AMARC with inventory code FG0003. It arrived there as a brand-new aircraft on 20 April 1992 after the USA embargoed its delivery to Pakistan (planned as serial 91-0729). It was stored for some years, and then transferred to the US Navy as an adversary aircraft. It left storage on 2 December 2002 and was assigned to the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) at NAS Fallon (NV). The center was later redesignated into Naval Air Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC).

Former Swiss Air Force J-3024 and delivered to the US Navy by May 2004. Initially served VFC-111, but later transferred to VFC-13.

A F/A-18C-29 ordered in FY88

This old F-16B, former USAF serial 92-0959, is also former AMARC with inventory code FG0271. It arrived there as a brand-new aircraft on 2 November 1994 after the USA embargoed its delivery to Pakistan (planned as serial 92-625). It was stored for some years, and then transferred to the US Navy as an adversary aircraft. It left storage on 1 November 2002 and was assigned to the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) at NAS Fallon (NV). Here it is seen temporary (?) stored at the base. Some parts are clearly missing, including the engine. It was seen up to fall 2019, fate?

The Diamondbacks double nuts. The squadron was established as VA-36 on 1 July 1955 and was redesignated at the same moment to VF-102, started with F2H Banshees. From 1956, it flew F4D Skyrays and from 1961 F-4 Phantoms. Saw combat over Vietnam from 1968, flew air cover ops during Yom Kippur in 1973, swapped to F-14 Tomcat in 1981. Was involved in the Op El Dorado Canyon (Libya) in 1986, took part in Op Desert Shield (Iraq) in 1990, supported the Balkan war in 1993, deployed several times to Op Southern Watch (Iraq) and op Enduring Freedom in 2001. Transitioned to F/A-18F in 2004.
