Former Hawkins & Powers aircraft.

This is one of the last-built Consolidated Cansos, previously known as N314CF. After its military career the aircraft became an aerial firefighter and served in Canada and Spain. Restoration was well under way here with 'blisters' mounted while a multitude of ropes kept the Cat secured. She was restored to flying status eventually by appropriately named Black Cat Aviation in Indiana. [50mm 1/200 f8 on Velvia]

N68740 appeared at Bankstown briefly for maintenance before returning to the Indonesian province of West Irian, where it was used to support Freeport Indonesia's mining operation. In 1971 it was replaced by a Fairchild F27. N68740 went to the US where was converted into a luxury air yacht. It was last reported at the Pima Air Museum, Arizona.
