This Boeing 767 First flew as N8278V and entered the Australian Register on 6th of June 1983 as VH-RMD. It was cancelled from the Australian register on 2nd of December 2004 It was registered to Aeroturbine Inc. as N861AT on 2nd December 2004. It was broken up for parts in 2005 at Opa-locka.

VH-RMH was one of the Ansett aircraft grounded in April 2001 for airworthiness breaches. It returned to service the following month but the troubled Ansett group ceased operations in September. -RMH was sold to Aeroturbine in 2004 but a proposed lease KrasAir fell through. It was ferried to Opa-locka, Florida, as N863AT and scrapped. The cockpit was shipped to Wexford, Ireland, to be converted into a simulator.

Ansett's 767s were unique in they retained the three-crew cockpit (two pilots and a flight engineer) of the original design. Other buyers took advantage of Boeing's new glass cockpit to have two pilots only. VH-RME was finally converted to two-crew in 1998. In April 2001 it became one of the Ansett aircraft grounded by authorities for non-compliance, the first real sign the airline was in trouble. It re-entered service a month later but was under heavy maintenance when Ansett ceased operations in September. The work was never finished and -RME was scrapped at Melbourne in 2003.

VH-RMD was still in the Ansett fleet when it went into receivership in 2001.It took until 2004 to find a buyer. Aeroturbine flew it to Opa-locka, Florida, (as N861AT) where it was broken up.
