Katekavia obtained this Antonov from Sakha Avia in 4.00. Originally an Aeroflot Latvian directorate aircraft, she flew for Latavio as YL-LCI in the early 90s

The airline is named after the Irkustsk Aviation Repair Plant, ARP403 and was operated by Novosibirsk Avia, to whom the aircraft was returned in 2004 (by then in new Angara 403 colours) - stored at Novosibirsk-Severny in 2009 but flying for KrasAir in 2017

You have to go a long way to see these. Manufactured May 1972 for the Aeroflot Yakutiya directorate and still active with Alrosa

Later operated in regular Katekavia colours and transferred to Turukhan in 2015 at Cheremshanka airport, which is just two miles from the main Krasnoyarsk airport, Yemelyanovo. Both have r/w 11/29

In 3.87 she was involved in an abortive hijacking when a passenger demanded to be taken to Miami. Sadly worse was to come on 11.7.97 when the Antonov was climbing through 500ft out of Santiago for Havana, rolled left and crashed into the sea with the loss of all 44 on board

First seen with Balkan in 1971 and leased to Palair for around a year in late 1991. Later stored at Sofia all-white and returned to Russia in 1994 but fate unknown

Rarely photographed in these eye-catching colours which almost made up for the lack of the forecast sun, I seem to recall that they'd put the titles on the other side of the tail in similar fashion but up-side-down!
