Bristow operates this S-61 for the Netherlands Coastguard out of their base at Den Helder. Note the orange and blue Netherlands Coast Guard badge just in front of the Coastguard title.

This was not a sprayer like the other Harpoons stored at Buffalo, but a fire bomber with appropriate Tanker number.

In this photo this Harpoon is still fitted out as an agricultural sprayer, with spray bars on the wings, but those wouldn't last much longer. A few months later it was sold to Dave Hansen (Warbird Aircraft Sales) and restored to flying condition in US Navy markings as the "Attu Warrior". It was flown to its new home in Heber City, UT on 9 Oct 2007. The aircraft was still proudly flying by August 2015, but was withdrawn from use shortly thereafter, when Dave Hansen was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away in January 2018.

Seen here still fitted out as an agricultural sprayer, with spray bars on the wings. This Harpoon remained stored at Buffalo for another decade before being sold in Oct 2016. Restoration work reportedly started in late 2017 by Sean O'Brien's Vintage Aviation Museum. The plan was to have the aircraft flying again by summer of 2019.

By 1995 this Hirth Air Tanker Harpoon was being converted to airtanker, but the work was abandoned after the owner John Hirth died in the crash of one of his PV-2 Harpoons on 20 Apr 1997. It was left stored here, with engines and other parts missing. Remnants of the registration are still visible on the fuselage. In early 2007, Gary Hilton acquired this Harpoon with the intention of moving it to his hometown of Lone Jack, MO. By 2009, he had gotten as far as removing the wings and nose (and possibly moving them to Lone Jack), but then his plans seem to have stalled, as the aircraft was still at Buffalo as of 2020. By 2023, it had been moved into the front yard of a house just southeast of the airport, still without its wings and nose.

Behind it on the left is N714AU (ex BuNo 148339), still coded LZ-14, and on the right is N949RR (ex BuNo 147949), coded PJ-3. The wingtip on the far right belongs to Fokker F-27 N222DG. One of four Neptunes stored in Neptune Aviation Services' boneyard, 700m east of their Missoula hangar. Like most Neptunes there this one still carries its US Navy markings, with some bits painted out. Below the cockpit it has faint silvery "University of Nevada - Reno" and "Fire Science Academy" titles and logo. This aircraft was the only one in the boneyard that could reasonably be photographed. The Neptune behind is N714AU (ex BuNo 148339), which still carries code LZ-14.

Parked very close together, so this ex NSF Electra is hiding behind the wing of a former NASA Electra. Both aircraft were stored at Neptune Aviation Services' airtanker base and both were sold to Air Spray later in the year. This N308D became C-FLXT.

It may be hard to believe, but this Neptune is not a spares ship. It is undergoing restoration to flight, after many years of storage and neglect. It made its first post-restoration flight on 6 Dec 2007 and became Tanker 42 (N442NA) a week later. Unfortunately its career would not be long - a bit more than a year later, on 25 Apr 2009, it crashed into high ground in the Oquirrh Mountains near Stockton Pass, UT, during a positioning flight from Missoula, MT to Alamogordo, NM. In this photo it still carries its former US Navy markings, with faded MASDC inventory number PA011 still on the nose.
