This is a monument as a tribute to the Gloster E28/39 Gloster Whittle, the first British jet aircraft to fly and to Sir Frank Whittle, the Father of jet propulsion who worked close to this site. It is situated on a traffic roundabout close to the M1 motorway to the south of the town. There is a similar example made from the same fibreglass moulds close to the airfield at Farnborough
Registration / Serial:No Reg
Aircraft Version:Gloster E28/39 replica
