This Osprey crashed at a coalition base at an undisclosed location in Syria in 17 September 2017, causing minor injuries to two service members. The tiltrotor carried roughly two dozen marines onboard. After a mechanical issue, the crew had to made a crash-landing, after which the MV-22B was completely destroyed. The Osprey belonged to the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Central Command (SP-MAGTF-CR-CC) at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia.
