During the early 1950s, the RNoAF used a three letter code system for its aircraft. This remained on some aircraft such as the Otters. The type code was O and the individual aircraft identification in this case was AF, making the full serial O-AF. Delivered as part of the first batch of Otters in April 1954, O-AF was assembled at the RNoAF's main depot at Kjeller AFB. Along with O-AG, it was part of Operasjon Pingvin in 1958 operating on the Antarctic ice shelf. Sold as LN-IKI in 1967 remaining in Norway until 1983. Later N4683K, C-FWAF, and N63354.
