Fighter Squadron (VF) 194 "Red Lightnings" was a short-lived Tomcat unit of the United States Navy. The squadron was re-established on 1 December 1986 and already disestablished on 30 April 1988. VF-194 was planned together with VF-191 for a cruise on the USS Independence as part of Carrier Air Wing 10, but before the cruise could take place the squadron ceased to exist. The squadron lineage runs back to 1952 as it was originally established as VF-91 on 26 March 1952, redesignated VF-194 on 1 August 1963 and disestablished on 1 March 1978.

As an F-14 squadron, VF-194 was in existence for about 17 months. Here is NM-201 from that squadron with only about 6 weeks before they were dis-established.
