This 1959 Aircoupe was originally registered N3017G. The FAA lists it as having been cancelled in November 1960, though that seems unlikely as it was not registered in Australia until 2 April 1992.

More than 65 years earlier, this aircraft was based at Temora during its wartime service with 10 EFTS. It returned again as part of the RAAF 90th Anniversary Air Pilgrimage. The RAAF Museum's Tiger was built to an EATS order and allocated RAF serial DX781, but was taken over by the RAAF as A17-692. Civilianised after the war, it became VH-TWA with the Tamworth Aero Club on 31 October 1958. It was subsequently re-registered VH-AWA(2) in March 1961.

This unique aircraft was the only one of its kind ever made. Originally built as the only Blackburn-engined, aerobatic J.5K G-AMYI, 23 Feb 53. Converted to Gipsy-engined J.8L in '54 - a development of the J.5F Aiglet Trainer with centrally positioned flap lever and light alloy sheeting to the two inboard bays of the tailplane. Used as company demonstrator till '55. Sold to Australia '77 becoming VH-UYQ. Third rebuild completed the day before this shot was taken.

Temora aerodrome, site of the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in for 2008, looking north west with the shorter Runway 18/36 closest. You can see the extensive buildings of the Temora Aviation Museum at the southern end of the apron, with David Lowy's Gulfstream V parked on its special pad in front of his house. Just to the south of that is GAF Canberra A84-223. There are a few antique aircraft already lined up on the grass, but we were one of the fairly early arrivals.

Since I last photographed this aircraft in April 2006 it has changed identity from VH-EUE to VH-NUE. It also moved from Melbourne to a new home with Airflite, based out of Jandakot WA, which makes it a long way from home at Temora! This Skyhawk was first registered, new, on 23 July 1998 and the change of registration occurred on 25th October 2006.

This Cherokee C was registered new on 15 July 1965 to Matthews Brothers of Bourke, NSW. On 12 March 1968 ownership transferred to Aeropelican Air Charter. They operated it until 27 October 1972 when it was sold to Lilla Creek Pastoral Company. It has had various owners since then and is currently based in Melbourne. It was seen here visiting the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in.

'Red Alert' arriving at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in. This 1985-built Yak was first registered in Australia on 29 September 2000. It was previously SA-based, bit since May 2007 lives in Boort, Vic. It also seems to have sprouted some new 'drop tanks' since I last photographed it.
