The first prototype for this Belgium-based aircraft manufacturer. As is evident by the angle of the main gear, it suffered from a slight incident while on the beach.

During 14-17 June, the world's first STOL competition on a beach was held on the Albertstrand in Knokke-Heist. This 75% scale replica of the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch was the overall winner, with a combined distance of 28.3m (landing 13,8m, takeoff 14,5m). Meaning that this aircraft landed AND departed within 28.3m. Quite impressive to witness and an honor being part of the event crew.

Squadron Leader Coleman ditched just off the seafront at Knokke - Het Zoute following fuel shortage due to faulty navigation. Formerly PP244 and supposedly named Port of London, the aircraft was carrying grapes from Bergamo to London. A Norwegian passenger lost his life. LAMS had six Halifax C.8s which were painted blue.
