A Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314 "Black Knights Hornet finding a parking spot at the busy platform of NAS Fallon during a NSAWC Top Gun course. The squadron is now operating, as the very first USMC unit, the F-35C Lightning II.

An E-2C of the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) "Top Gun" used for adversary training. The NSAWC trains 4-6 Air Intercept Controllers in each class on advanced command, control, and combat communication skills. They are completely integrated into the course and participate in most of the training missions. These "AIC" students, some of whom are E-2C/D Hawkeye Naval Flight Officers, go back to their Carrier Air Wings after graduation and are given the responsibility of training all the air controllers and fighters in their Carrier Strike Groups in the art of air intercept control.

An unmarked Fleet Logistic Support Squadron (VR) 61 Islanders C-40A Clipper during its landing at NAS Fallon (NV). The last C-40As delivered to the US Navy are Boeing 737-700 airframes with winglets and the wings and landing gear from the larger and heavier 737-800.

An Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 137 "Rooks" Growler on its way to the End Of Runway (EOR) at Naval Air Station Fallon (NV) for another Top Gun mission.

F/A-18E Super Hornet of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 81 'Sunliners', based at NAS Oceana (VA), on the taxiway of Fallon. The squadron deployed to Nevada for work-ups of the Carrier Air Wing in preparation for an upcoming cruise with the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75)

Adversary F-5E of Fighter Composite Squadron (VFC) 13 "Saints" ready for another flight from NAS Fallon. The black painted aircraft - the so-called the MiG-28 scheme from the movie Top Gun - is a former Swiss Air Force Tiger (J-3053). It was delivered in May 2004 to the US Navy. So this Tiger never flew in the movie. In the back ground 761534/AF-10 of VFC-13 in a three-tone grey c/s can be seen, as well as one of the Super Hornets they will fight in a few minutes.
