A classic Cessna 172 volunteering for the Kentucky division of the Civil Air Patrol. From the second year of production, this 1957 model did not have a new model number.... the 172A came out in 1960. This aircraft is still current on the US registry at the time of uploading.

I had my first flying lesson in this Kentucky Flying Service 150. Looking up the later history of the airplane, I was dismayed to find it crashed after a mid-air collision August 13, 1972. Luckily, the other Cessna 150 was able to land safely.
