Great-looking Mustang in British colours landing at the very enjoyable Oostwold Airshow, held at Pentecost in odd-numbered years.

Built in 1999. Formerly OO-MDP.

Oostwold airfield was created by the late Tom van der Meulen who started his flying business in 1958. This Super Cub was acquired in 1960. Its airworthiness lapsed in 1992, but it was restored and re-registered in 2013, painted in historic colours and wearing the old legend Tom vliegt voor u (Tom flies for you).

Masquerading as 39-160 as flown by the 10th Air Base Squadron at Chanute Field, Illinois. Actually 41-13357, this aircraft was one of some 2400 P-40s supplied to the Soviet Union.

Born in New Zealand of Dutch ancestry, Stephen 'Barefoot' van Dijck became a fighter pilot in the Dutch air force and a Boeing 747 pilot at KLM. He is seen landing his Su-29.

Designed by Egon Scheibe, the SF-23 Sperling (Sparrow) first flew in 1955. About 28 examples were built, a few of them by Otto Wimmer Motorenfabrik.

What a cool aeroplane the Norseman is! The highlight for me of the Oostwold Airshow.

Spitfire RR232 was temporarily painted as the aircraft of Wing Commander Rolf Arne Berg of the RAF's No 132 (Norwegian) Wing, who had his national markings added on the wings and rudder. Berg was killed in PV181 during a raid against Eelde (EHGG). Flown by the Norwegian Spitfire Foundation.

The Kitplanes for Africa Safari appeared as a kit or completed aircraft in two versions, certified to American LSA standard or with minor strengthening to European VLA standard. The company from Gauteng, South Africa, initially produced the Bushbaby which was based on the Denney Kitfox 4. The Safari is a larger aircraft overall of which development started in 2008.
