Civil registered as JA3096 on import in 1954, this one-off T-28 was acquired by the Japan Defense Agency in 1956 for technical reserach. In 1962 it was converted for reconnaissance training but suffered a heavy landing at Utsunomiya the year after. After use as an instructional airframe it went on display when the museum opened in 1999

Civil registered as JA3096 on import in 1954, this one-off T-28 was acquired by the Japan Defense Agency in 1956 for technical reserach. In 1962 it was converted for reconnaissance training but suffered a heavy landing at Utsunomiya the year after. After use as an instructional airframe it went on display when the museum opened in 1999

Nagoya's new airport, known as Chubu Centrair, was opened on an artificial island 35kms south of the city in 2005 and has an excellent roof terrace covering the whole of the huge single pier which extends out from the terminal
