Interesting angle on this Long-Ez: I remember the old Mangalore days when these were the hottest ships in the sky! This one was built in Victoria and registered on 5 October 1988. It was one of 50+ aircraft in attendance at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Christmas Toy Run.

Not a gear problem: just an artefact of the Nanchang undercarriage retraction sequence! This aircraft flew with the Chinese PLAAF with code '76'. It was sold and shipped to Australia in July 1990. Restored, it was registered VH-NNC on 26 October 1993. Currently based at Tyabb, it's seen here departing for home after the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's annual charity Christmas Toy Run.

Scarcely a trace remains of the 50+ aircraft that attended the Antique Aeroplane Asociation of Australia's Christmas Toy Run. The Toy Run is a fly-in which collects toys for charity distribution to kids who otherwise wouldn't get much for Christmas. Lethbridge Airpark is situated between Lethbridge and Meredith on the Geelong-Ballarat Road and, as you can see, has two well-maintained grass runways.

On this occasion the departing MX1595 flew a strange pattern turning 180 and flying east for several minutes before steering back on course for Mexico. Ex SP-LOB and bought 12.08. Very awkward title positioning!

Up and away en route Dhaka and Sylhet via Istanbul SAW and Dubai on a new twice-weekly service back in 2009. By late 2016, despite a number of setbacks, the United Airways fleet comprised five MD-80s, three ATR72s, two A310s and a Dash 8. This 1989-build MD-80 is ex Spanair and Aviajet/Flightline (G-FLTL)
